You can’t see it yet – but just a few steps closer is one of the most breathtaking views in the world. To see it, start by heading thirty miles west through rolling farms on M72. Pass through the Village of Empire and enter the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, then left on Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive. At the end of the tunnel of trees is the dune climb, 450 feet down straight into the shores of Lake Michigan. Enjoy the climb down – just remember the climb back up isn’t for the faint of heart.
